讲座摘要:
The traction power supply system is one of the four core systems of electrified railway. At present, the vast majority of electrified railways in the world adopt a single AC power frequency system, and the traction power supply system adopts a phase separated and segmented power supply method, which means that there is neutral section (no power zone) within and between traction substations, resulting in problems such as the inability to exchange energy along the entire railway line, high safety hazards, difficulty in cross regional power supply, difficulty in utilizing regenerative braking energy of a large number of trains, and difficulty in connecting new energy sources. In order to solve a series of problems caused by electrical phase separation in the traditional traction power supply system, the Flexible Traction Power Supply System (FTPSS) based on Multi-Level Converter (MLC) has attracted widespread industry attention. FTPSS can be regarded as a new micro-grid traction power system composed of grid-forming and grid-following converters. Distributed energy resources in this system have special characteristics in terms of capacity, distribution, and locomotive load. This tutorial will provide an overview of the FTPSS proposed by our research team, the integrated coordinated control strategy of FTPSS, and the topology, control method and reliability of the MLC in the traction power supply system.

Xiaoqiong He (IEEE Senior Member), Dr., Professor, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), Deputy Director of the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Center (NEEC), Chengdu, China, received the B.S., M.S., and D.Eng. degrees from SWJTU and was a visiting scholar at NTU in Singapore for one year. Dr. He’s current research interests include multi-port energy routing systems, high-speed train power electronic transformer, intelligent flexible traction power supply systems for rail transit, energy conversion control and application. She has published more than 100 SCI papers, is the holder of +70 Chinese invention patents and a US patent, has received 3 First Prize Awards in Science and Technology from the China Railway Society (ranked 1st , 8th and 14th), and 1 First Prize Award in Technology Invention of Sichuan Province in China (ranked 5th). She has further been General Chair of ECCE Asia 2024 (1300 participants), General Chair of the 17th (online) & 18th (offline) IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, Former General Secretary of WIP of the IEEE Power and Energy Society in China. Finally she has hosted 4 projects of the NSFC in China, and more than 10 major innovation projects of the MEC and National Energy Group of China, etc. These projects had a budget of over 130 million yuan.
 
Lan Ma received her B.S. degree in Automation in 2011 and the Ph.D. degree in Control Science and Engineering in 2018, both from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China(UESTC), Chengdu, China.From 2015 to 2017, she was a Visiting Scholar at the FREEDM Systems Center(Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management Systems Center), Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA. She is currently a associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu. Her research focuses on energy storage and solar system control, power electronics converters, and virtual synchronous machine.
 
Pengcheng Han was born in Henan, China, in 1992. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), Chengdu, China. He is currently pursuing postdoctoral research at SWJTU while holding a concurrent position at Luoyang Institute of Technology. His research fouces on multilevel converters, electrified railways, control applications to power electronic converters, and SiC devices and control. His paper titled “Fault Diagnosis and System Reconfiguration Strategy of Single-phase Cascaded Inverter” received the Best Paper Award from the IEEE ITEC Asia-Pacific, graned by IEEE Industry Application Society.
