讲座摘要:
Ocean wave energy is emerging as a promising offshore renewable energy source, offering high predictability, strong complementarity with wind and solar energy, and broad application potential from grid-connected power generation to self-powered ocean monitoring systems. This tutorial brings together renowned scholars and leading researchers in wave energy conversion systems to provide a comprehensive and accessible introduction to this rapidly developing field. The tutorial begins with the fundamentals of wave energy conversion, including major WEC structures, power take-off mechanisms, electrical system configurations, and key technical challenges. It then moves to energy-maximizing control, covering model predictive control, wave excitation force estimation and forecasting, fast real-time optimization, and experimental validation. Dedicated applications in self-powered ocean data buoys are presented through built-in direct-drive WECs, magnetic transmission, active motion control, MPPT, and hybrid wave-photovoltaic power supply. Recent advances in high-power-density point-absorber WECs are further discussed, with emphasis on advanced generators, multi-port energy conversion, coordinated control, and offshore multi-energy platforms. Combining theoretical insights, numerical modeling, prototype development, and experimental demonstrations, this tutorial will be of particular interest to graduate students, researchers, and engineers working in renewable energy systems, electrical machines, power electronics, control, and ocean engineering.
